Dr. John W. Luginsland is the Collaboration Director for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Regional Network – Mid-Atlantic. In this role, he guides the strategic direction of Network initiatives, fosters partnerships, and bridges connections between AFRL and its diverse members to accelerate the development of critical dual-use technologies for national defense and market value.

Dr. Luginsland’s career spans government, industry, and academia, and the full spectrum of research from fundamental discovery to deployment of high-technology products. He previously served as a Principal Physical Scientist at the AFRL/Air Force Office of Scientific Research in Arlington, VA. His expertise includes plasma physics, lasers, optics, computational physics, and directed energy systems, along with leadership roles within AFOSR.
