Patrick Govang

Patrick Govang is the Co-Director of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Regional Network – Mid-Atlantic. He works at the intersection of academic research, entrepreneurship, and commercialization, steering the network’s initiatives to propel innovation from conception through to dual-use commercialization. Under his leadership, the network fosters collaborations among key stakeholders that drive advancements supporting both defense and commercial sectors.

Govang brings a multifaceted background to his current position, with over two decades of experience in venture creation, technology development, commercialization, and strategic partnerships. Prior to his current role, he led the Office of Corporate Engagement and strategic research initiatives at Cornell University, where he also held past positions in technology licensing, startup acceleration and corporate outreach. A serial entrepreneur, he has founded and exited three businesses, serves on startup boards and is an angel investor.  His earlier career includes significant roles with Deloitte Consulting and leadership positions in high-volume manufacturing companies.
